Cutremurul Wenchuan este cel mai puternic cutremur care a lovit China inultimele trei decenii, distrugnd regiunea Wenchuan din provincia Sichuansi mprovocnd peste 60000 de victime omenesti.

Magnitudinea cutremurului a fost de 8 grade M, adncimea focarului 1020 km. Dup cutremur s-au produs sute de postocuri cel mai puternicavnd magnitudinea 6.1 M.
