Salut smartyneilor!

Bine v-am găsit la cea de-a XVII-a ediție a Concursurilor Smart! Rezultatele obținute de voi la Concursurile Smart ne bucură foarte mult și ne întăresc ideea că sunteți elevi conștiincioși și dornici de a vă îmbogăți bagajul de cunoștințe. Concursurile noastre v-au oferit ocazia să dovediți că sunteți bine pregătiți și că școala ocupă pentru voi un loc primordial. După cum probabil ați observat, fiecare ediție SMART cuprinde câte o temă. Am dedicat această ediție muzicii, încercând astfel să vă apropiem de acest domeniu minunat. Muzica este o artă și poate deveni un mod de viață. Ea poate scoate la iveală latura sensibilă a fiecăruia dintre voi și reprezintă o modalitate propice de a vă exprima sentimentele și de a descoperi noi calități pe care le puteți dezvolta.Pentru a vă putea dedica muzicii trebuie să aveți o cultură generală solidă și multă putere de muncă. Dorința noastră este aceea de a vă răsplăti efortul intelectual și spiritul competitiv prin premii cât mai atractive. Menirea premiilor obținute la aceste concursuri este de a vă stimula setea de cunoaștere și aplecarea spre învățătură. De la o ediție la alta, am observat că numărul participanţilor cu rezultate bune și foarte bune a crescut considerabil, iar acest lucru ne bucură foarte mult și ne demonstrează că misiunea noastră, aceea de a crește calitatea actului educațional, a fost îndeplinită. Colectivul Smart mulțumește elevilor participanți și tuturor colaboratorilor care au contribuit la realizarea subiectelor și la organizarea concursurilor. După cum v-am obișnuit, mereu am ținut cont de părerile voastre și o vom face în continuare. Așa că dacă aveți idei noi, le așteptăm cu interes pe adresa redacției.

METROUL LONDONEZ Metroul londonez (London Underground) este cea mai veche rețea de metrou din lume și în același timp o componentă cheie a sistemului de transport în comun în Londra. Este numit în mod familiar și the Tube. Pe lângă funcția sa practică, Metroul londonez este și un monument istoric și o atracție turistică de sine stătătoare. În anul 2000, era folosit de 3 milioane de persoane zilnic.

Deschis în 1863, a fost prima reţea de trenuri subterane din lume iar în 1890 au fost introduse pentru prima dată trenuri electrice. Cu 270 de staţii şi peste 400 de kilometri de şine, London Underground sau Tube cum este denumit în limbajul

colocvial, este astăzi cel mai mare sistem de metrou ca şi întindere, după cel din Shanghai. Istoria Metroului londonez începe cu Metropolitan Railway, prima cale ferată subterană pentru transport de pasageri din lume. Metropolitan Railway a început să funcționeze la 10 ianuarie 1863 între stațiile Paddington și Farringdon. Linia s-a extins treptat, ajungând ca în 1880 să transporte peste 40 de milioane de călători anual. Metropolitan Railway a evoluat în ceea ce azi este cunos-cută drept Metropolitan line. Tunelele acestei linii au

fost construite prin săparea de șanțuri la suprafață și acoperirea acestora; ca urmare se află la mică adâncime. Datorită avansului tehnic, în anii 1880 s-a putut trece la săparea tunelelor de adâncime mare, așa numitele „tuburi”. Prima asemenea linie, City & South London railway, s-a deschis în 1890. Astăzi, aceasta este parte din Northern Line. Au mai urmat și alte linii în anii următori.Fiecare linie era operată de o companie diferită, ceea ce producea destule

neplăceri, pasagerii fiind nevoiți să iasă la suprafață pentru a schimba o linie cu alta. Magnatul american Charles Yerkes a cumpărat majoritatea aceste companii, consolidându-le într-una singură numită Underground Electric Railways of London Company Ltd., la 9 aprilie 1902.London Underground deservește un număr de 12 linii. Acestea se pot clasifica în două tipuri: superficiale și de adâncime. Liniile superficiale se află la aproximativ 5 m sub pământ și au fost construite prin săpare și acoperire. Ecartamentul acestor linii este cel normal. Liniile de adâncime sunt executate în tunele circulare, și se află la adâncimi de 20 până la 50 m.
