In the fall we had 92 shareholders.

By the summer, we had 149,

representing a 60% increase.... . .

furthermore, most people say their share feeds 2-4 people. We estimate that over

400 people

are using Market Shares as a

main source of groceries.

75% of the people we serve are contributing both

financial and moral resources to this type of activism for the first time.

We spread the news about the movement! We activated some food system thinkers!

Shareholders also paid less than the average Rhode Island Farm-Based CSA. Because we operate with the support of stu-dent volunteers and university in-

frastructure, we were able to offer full price shares at 90% of the cost of the average Rhode Island CSA share, and offer lower cost shares at even further reduced prices.

We could not do what we do without help from the following people:

Donna Hustler at the Student Activities Office.

Marshall Einhorn and the Brown/RISD Hillel.

Patti Caton, Jeanne Lowenstein, and the Urban Envi-ronmental Lab

Alan Harlam, Alan Flam, Tara Kane, and the Swearer Center.

Peter Rossi and the team at Brown Dining Services

Hannah Mellion, Paula Gill, Russel ___?? and every-one who is a part of Farm Fresh Rhode Island.

Thank you for a great season!
